Economy Tuning $145

The Tuner/Technician uses a very specialized computer, called an Accu-Tuner, to measure the stringing scale and partials of your piano. Based on that scale, the Accu-Tuner then computes a customized tuning for your piano. Then the Tuner/Technician uses his experience in setting the tuning pins and manipulating the strings, following the direction of the Accu-Tuner in tuning your piano.

Standard Tuning $185

This tuning builds upon the principles and use of the Accu-Tuner. Once the piano is tuned, the Tuner/Technician will aurally verify all the interval relationships. Adjustments are made if and as necessary. Then, all unisons are tuned aurally. Aural verification of unisons is very effective. This approach combines the best of a computer generated tuning and balances it with the unmistakable precision of the human ear.

Master Tuning $250

There’s a saying among piano tuners that a piano cannot be tuned unless it’s already in tune. What they mean is that if they’re going to perform the very best possible tuning, you must begin with the piano absolutely stable and at the proper pitch. Therefore, the ‘Master Tuning’ requires that the piano be pre-tuned. After this pre-tuning, the piano is tuned as if it were going to be used for performance or recording. Voiced Tuning $295

This Tuning includes all the elements of a ‘Master Tuning’. Therefore, it goes beyond adjusting the pitch of every string, and includes regulating the tonal quality of each string by voicing that part of the hammer that excites any undesired harmonic partials of that individual string. This tuning usually produces the ‘Wow’ factor from our clients. However, your piano must qualify for this service. It is usually only done on grand pianos of a high quality. Additionally, your piano must already be in good regulation and fairly well voiced. You can phone Rick directly for this service: 240 396 7480
